Apple Aperture 3

Adds Face Recognition and GPS

For Mac users, Aperture 3 delivers a comprehensive update of Apple’s powerful imaging application. With more than 200 new features, the app allows you to organize photo libraries with more flexibility using Projects, as well as an advanced version of the Faces and Places features first introduced in iPhoto ‘09.

With Faces, once a particular face is recognized, the function allows you to search the entire library or individual projects to find others like it. The Places feature enhances the use of GPS data by supporting GPS logs. Reverse geo-coding converts coordinates into familiar location names and then displays them on a map. Nondestructive brushes are another major upgrade, allowing you to paint adjustments directly onto images. Estimated Street Price: $199.
