Multi-Media Expo In Los Angeles
Focuses on HDSLR filmmaking techniques and equipment
The talented roster of speakers at the PhotoCine Expo include Shane Hurlbut ASC, Rodney Charters ASC, SNL Film Unit DP Alex Buono, Liam Finn and Vincent Laforet. Gail Mooney will be talking about her recent self funded HDSLR documentary that took her around the world in 90 days, and Nikon shooter Ami Vitale will be showcasing her motion work from exotic locals on the beautiful big screen at the Los Angeles Film School’s main theater. Also not to be missed is a panel presentation from breakout filmmakers working guerilla style with visual effects.
The Post Production Training Hall will bring content creators together with leading software companies and educators for breakout training sessions including Adobe’s DSLR Filmmaking workflow for Premiere. Lynda.com instructor Frank Rohmer will be teaching green screen post production techniques using FCP and Premiere. at events like NAB and Macworld, will be presenting Final Cut Pro training seminars. The Post Production Training Hall is where Bob Sliga, who was instrumental in designing Color for Apple and created the Color FX Room Signature Looks, will be presenting grading for DSLR in Apple Color. CreativeCow will be on hand to present “From Still To Motion” co-author Richard Harrington for workshops and a book signing.
The demo theater will host a camera movement workshop, Green Screen Continuous Lighting class, and a two hour intensive HDSLR cinematography workshop taught by Snehal Patel based on his very successful Canon Bootcamp workshops.
The focus of the PhotoCineNews Expo is as much about creating great content as it is about the mechanics of filmmaking. Roberta Munroe, author of How Not To Make A Short Film: Secrets From A Sundance Programmer, will share her experience with HDSLR filmmakers about how to craft a movie for the short film festival circuit. Jon Reiss will be presenting a seminar based on his book, "Think Outside the Box Office", a break through step-by-step guide to distributing and marketing a film from a nuts-and-bolts perspective. The Bui Brothers round out the business of filmmaking discussion by sharing their secrets for making money on the web with viral video production.
